My Background

My personal journey with health began back in 2008, when I very clearly remember standing in a card & gift store I owned around 3 pm, and thinking to myself, I really could go to sleep right now. It was more than just being tired. If I’d curled up I would have totally crashed out. I realised I was chasing a caffeine and sugar high just to get me through the day. So I began to make healthier choices with my food and increased my physical activity.

In 2014 I sought the help of a nutritionist, and this is when things really started to improve. It was through understanding my body better, listening to its cues and using what I ate, and the way I moved, to support my body rather than ‘punish’ it, that I really began to appreciate how valuable their input was. And so my love of the body began, and this enlightenment led to a change in my career.

And here I am now, a qualified Nutritionist with a Bachelor in Health Science majoring in Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine. My passion lies in helping guide you to a place that literally makes you hum from the inside, with a particular focus on digestive and hormonal health. I’ve been privileged to do this since 2017.

My Approach

I love playing detective! I love unravelling your current health concerns to better understand your symptoms, but to also work out the root cause of why you are experiencing what you are. From here I make small, continual tweaks to your diet and lifestyle, helping decrease your symptoms and getting you back to a place where you can thrive.

Through studying Nutritional Medicine I understand the underlying causes & effects of diseases and health conditions. I use specific questioning and de-coding of pathology testing to get to the root cause.

My treatment plans are backed with science. But I also deeply believe in our connection to ourselves and our surroundings. I think this is a major piece of what is missing in today’s health care. I also understand the challenges of modern life, and use my own experience as a very busy retail manager, to build meal plans and lifestyle changes that fit around a hectic schedule.

My mantra with everything health related is “it’s a marathon, not a sprint” I want to make real life changes, and not just provide a quick-fix.

Areas of practice

Whilst I will treat all health conditions, I particularly love:

- Body Composition - fat loss, muscle gain

- Hormonal Health – both male and female

- Energy depletion – including adrenal and thyroid health and sleep disturbances

- Stress + manifesting mood disorders – depression, anxiety

- Digestive complaints – IBS, SIBO, IBD, reflux, heartburn, candida overgrowth

Plans and treatments are tailored to YOU; there’s no ‘one-size-fits-all’ when it comes to nutrition and exercise.
